These amazing phenomena can best be looked for in the early Summer months of May and June, although more and more displays are occurring right through until the Autumn. There are many theories about their cause, ranging from spaceflight to air travel to the solar wind, but no-one has established a definitive proof.


In early July 2008, Linda and I were taking photographs towards the North and Northwest: me to the rear of our bungalow, Linda to the front, in the hope of capturing some images of these fascinating, yet elusive nebulae.
